Flash is going to disappear on December 31st 2020. It’s a difficult situation but the powers that be have decided that Flash has to go. We would love to be able to keep things running the way they were but it’s just not possible.
We are a very small crew of dedicated guys and gals that want the best for this site and for all of you that have stuck with us through thick and thin. Sadly, we have to make some changes to ensure we can keep things running and improving in 2021 and beyond.

We really wanted to convert all of the games but this has turned out to be far more complicated than we initially anticipated. So we took the hard decision to start converting the most popular games. For the beginning of 2021, the following (should) be the lineup of games moving forward.

Performance Issues in HTML5 Games
HTML5 can be more RAM and CPU intensive than Flash, which means older systems can struggle.
Trust me, I see everything! I hear the complaints and I am going to address them in 2021.
We are going to look at optimisation for HTML5 games in 2021. We are investigating RAM usage and aim to outline RAM requirements. This should give you all a better performance benchmark, but hopefully we can bring those requirements down in 2021. This is not going to be an overnight process however, so as per usual, I very much appreciate your patience.
Flash Games
What this means is we are going to be delisting the vast majority of our Flash games by the end of the year. This is not a decision we have taken lightly but it is our only choice. We can’t support these games if the browsers do not.
The shame is we lose a lot of classic games and no doubt some of our amazing long-term players, which is horrible. We hope you do stick around because we are always trying to think about the future and how we can improve things. My hope is that in 2021 we get to concentrate less on HTML5 (basically keeping the site alive) and more on bug fixes, improvements and new features.
Site Features
We are also porting over the Castle, Avatars, Spinners, Freeroll Spinners and all of the other little Flash Elements that make up the site. The aim is to also have this done by December 31st 2020. There is a small possibility that some elements might not be entirely finished, but we are working hard to make sure this does not happen.
Summary
So there it is! That is what is happening in its entirety. I have to reiterate, I wish we could have converted every game, but with all the will in the world it just could not happen. I know we are going to lose some of you and I completely understand. All I can say is thank you so much for being part of this site and creating one of the most unique gaming communities on the planet. I sincerely hope you do stay and that we continue to keep entertaining you for many more years to come.

@Fool or who ever.. It's just not good enough is it . Activision brought King.com out Feb 2016, Late 2016 early 2017 Activision was already getting started conveting to HTML5 and was by march 2017, So Midasplayer must have still had there fingers in there with change over still but you wait until
keep the free games and challenges, then port them to html5 at your leisure. Removing those games is corporate suicide, the community on here is strong enough for us to happily play M Mahjong and others with friends for fun, your html5 lineup just doesn't cut it, even if they all worked correctly.
1) You've not ported the most popular game, Midas Mahjong. 2) It will still be possible to play Flash games (otherwise Ubisoft will be in a world of trouble while they port to Unity through 2021). You do NOT need to remove the Flash games, by all means take away the cash games, that's prudent, but
A few of my favourites will go but at the end of the day, it is what it is and i'm sure everyone has tried their best over the past year to convert as much as possible. Looking forward to the new start and will stick around, so long as I don't loose my platinum status haha
the redesign on cats corner is horrible its like the graphics were done on an RM Nimbus or commodore64??

I used to write html... so i know its quirky but bleh
We have since confiscated their cornflakes and are making sure they are tested thoroughly before consumption.

Hopefully we can bring back some in the future or find a solution that lets players still enjoy them. Currently all of the products on the market that would enable this to happen are not good enough. But we will keep looking into them.
We are hoping to convert a few more games next year but right now I can't give any specifics.

To play on this site I have to "ALLOW" flash plug-in because this site will not let me on to the HTML using Edge Browser (Chromium based). It also seems to me that this site had the last 2 YEARS to start adjusting what was going to happen. ARE WE GOING TO BE ABLE TO USE EDGE?
yes, you will be able to use edge. HTML5 should not require you to enable any plugins to work. One tip we have found is that enabling hardware acceleration in the settings menu of your browser can improve performance.

You will be able to use games on Edge, we are not dropping support for windows systems. We have noticed a trend that systems with less than 4GB of Ram seem to have issues. There will be further investigations into optimising HTMl5 games so hopefully performance will improve throughout 2021.

Royal Games is going to take a huge hit when they disable the Flash games. Thousands of us have no problems with most of the games, and won't be able to play. Why not leave them with a warning of "no refunds, we don't support flash games anymore"? I would still play! Hope Royal survives!

We had some on the list but time was against us. I am hoping we can get some more games converted in 2021, but right now I can't confirm anything.

Thanks Matt. We are going to keep trying to improve the site everyday. I think we have made some progress in some areas but we have a lot more to do. We have been focusing so much on keeping the site running and it will be good to get back to thinking about how we can make the site more fun for you guys.

Hi all...Sad news indeed...I have been a member since March 2005...in the Midas days.... I will miss Boom Solitaire amongst others....But heres hoping you manage to keep things going. Don't give up on us.... Be safe in this crazy world...and Merry Christmas. Hope 2021 is better :)
