The Future of Royal Games
Hello Royal Gamers
Flash is going to disappear on December 31st 2020. It’s a difficult situation but the powers that be have decided that Flash has to go. We would love to be able to keep things running the way they were but it’s just not possible.
We are a very small crew of dedicated guys and gals that want the best for this site and for all of you that have stuck with us through thick and thin. Sadly, we have to make some changes to ensure we can keep things running and improving in 2021 and beyond.
HTML5 Games
We really wanted to convert all of the games but this has turned out to be far more complicated than we initially anticipated. So we took the hard decision to start converting the most popular games. For the beginning of 2021, the following (should) be the lineup of games moving forward.

Performance Issues in HTML5 Games
HTML5 can be more RAM and CPU intensive than Flash, which means older systems can struggle.
Trust me, I see everything! I hear the complaints and I am going to address them in 2021.
We are going to look at optimisation for HTML5 games in 2021. We are investigating RAM usage and aim to outline RAM requirements. This should give you all a better performance benchmark, but hopefully we can bring those requirements down in 2021. This is not going to be an overnight process however, so as per usual, I very much appreciate your patience.
Flash Games
What this means is we are going to be delisting the vast majority of our Flash games by the end of the year. This is not a decision we have taken lightly but it is our only choice. We can’t support these games if the browsers do not.
The shame is we lose a lot of classic games and no doubt some of our amazing long-term players, which is horrible. We hope you do stick around because we are always trying to think about the future and how we can improve things. My hope is that in 2021 we get to concentrate less on HTML5 (basically keeping the site alive) and more on bug fixes, improvements and new features.
Site Features
We are also porting over the Castle, Avatars, Spinners, Freeroll Spinners and all of the other little Flash Elements that make up the site. The aim is to also have this done by December 31st 2020. There is a small possibility that some elements might not be entirely finished, but we are working hard to make sure this does not happen.
Summary
So there it is! That is what is happening in its entirety. I have to reiterate, I wish we could have converted every game, but with all the will in the world it just could not happen. I know we are going to lose some of you and I completely understand. All I can say is thank you so much for being part of this site and creating one of the most unique gaming communities on the planet. I sincerely hope you do stay and that we continue to keep entertaining you for many more years to come.
Like commented before , leave the option to use browsers that can play the old games ? Shouldent take much effort from your part . Meaning you would most likely keep the majority of your members.
Hi Joachim.l, We can't do this for a number of security reasons. Flash is being dropped by the big browsers because it has become a major security risk.

players also, for now, have the option of keeping older browsers that have flash. There might not be harm in leaving games up even if they cant be updated, or even if you have to demonetize them. Theres an audience for running older versions. people download windows 95 emulators to play old games
These are all great ideas. I hope we can figure out a way to enable the old games at some point in the future. I am sure some technology will pop up that makes this easier, but as of now there are no real good solutions. Trust me, I have been looking.

Any way you can convert the old games into downloadables? like, not for money on the site anymore, but just to be able to play at all. Much like the candy crush app? But available on desktop as well? even as an offline game? that wouldnt need flash without needing a browser
I wish we could, but we currently do not have the manpower. Maybe it's something we can do in the future as that is an interesting idea.

In 2017, Adobe informed that they are shutting down Flash, 2020-12-31, Why did Royal Game not start up and start working on the problem already then ?.
Furthermore, it with login with e-mail address. has made many people unable to log in for various reasons,, -what does Roal do with all of them ?.
Hi sm6xby, I understand your frustration. It does appear on the outside like nothing has been happening, and that is my fault, due to the lack of updates, but we have been working on this for quite some time. However, it has been more complicated than we anticipated. Each problem you discover, uncovers 3 more problems, especially with a site as complex and Royal Games.

I am so sad that Jungle Bubble is not n the list. Quite a few of the HTML5 games are too gaudy and difficult for my impaired vision. I am undecided whether to stay or go.
I really thought Jungle Bubble and Jungle Speed would continue I play these every day and and have done for many years.... They seem to be very popular. I think it might cause a lot of people not to return as often.. How Sad!!! I wish everyone goodluck xx
Appreciate your efforts to convert what you could. I will be real sorry to see Gold Fish Bowl and Lucky Lantern go away as those are what I play 99% of the time. Sincerely hope 2021 works out well for RG with the remaining games.
We still have hopes for Lucky Lantern but no promises just yet unfortunately.
I think that's an honest and fair post - thank you. As others have pointed out, this has been imposed on you by Adobe. Although there are many complaints here, RG is actually doing more than most to prepare for this. Many sites out there will simply fall over on Jan 1st 2021.
Out of that list there's probs two or three games I'll play. Real let down! You've left it too late and that's where you've gone wrong :( I'd like to know what's going to happen after the list of games listed have been converted. I can't play BS or BW because the motion of shooting is god damn slow
Really sad about this news, I have been playing since King.Com my colleagues laugh when I mention Freeroll Friday. Garden Stampede, Jelly Swelly, the card and word games not on the list, am gutted. The new version of the games are just not as responsive or good.
I want to know why no lobby games are included in the keep list such as Backgammon and Hearts. Is there any chance that they can be bought back to life next year PLEASE? Many people love the live talk on these games. I have made friends that way. Please think about it RG. Thanks. G23
I'm grateful for what I can get on HTML5. Several of my favourite games are on that platform already. Royal Games are not magicians and are doing the best that they can with the limitations that presumably HTML5 brings. They may be able to provide new games that haven't been on here before.
