...What a JOKE this has become. For the past 8 years we have had a Republican President that for 6 of those, had a well trained, roll over, and do as you're told Congress, and they did NOTHING to try and help the American People with the rising cost of health care.
Now, they have all these so called Ideas which I have yet to hear one that would actually bring about cost relief for the Americans, maybe give the Insurance companies even more profit, but that's about it. Since the American people voted for change, their new strategy is to simply say NO, to everything. Oh, and of course their SCARE TATICS!
Socialized Health Care…hmmmm, lets think about this…. The Postal Service, the Fire departments, Schools, the Military, Roads, State Parks, the Police, and of course, Social Security, Medicaid, Medicare, the VA hospitals… hell even our Hospitals are socialized to a degree.. They will make you sign papers agreeing to pay their over inflated prices without telling you the total cost before rendering service, but you can get care, even if it’s just some duct tape without actually fixing the problem. I could come up with MANY other forms of “Socialized Programs” here in America.
The so called “Death Panels”! Oh no, not the Death Panels!! They want to give the people a chance to create a living will. Give them the chance not to get their last days being over shadowed by worries of “How are we going to pay for this”, “Should we leave them on life support for an unknown amount of time”, “who is going to get everything once they pass”, sounds like a good idea to me. Funny how it’s a Georgia Republican that actually helped bring that about for Medicare patients. Now that there is an actual attempt to have an educated debate though, the “Death Panel” sure can sound scary for those seniors that don’t really understand what the debate is all about.
Single Payer, wow, what a great idea that is! All the doctors can cut out all the middle men and paper work that has to be processed thru the insurance companies. We can get to cut out all the CEO’s that make their record Bonuses for denying you the needed heath care, after you had paid for X number of year your premiums. Think they don’t already do that? Get cancer; lose your job, get a new job, and then try to get on the new insurance. Good luck to you on that because now you have the dreaded “Preexisting Condition”! Chances are you will get “Let Go” from your job that you did have because you were becoming an expense to the company to keep you on. Yes, you having high health care cost will end up costing EVERYONE in the company you work for. How long do you think they will keep you on if they know they can lower the cost?
The Government will tell you which doctor you can go to…Guess they have never been on a HMO, thanks for that Nixon! If you like a doctor that’s not in your “Network” I hope you have deep pockets! These are things that already happen with companies we all pay GOOD DAMN MONEY to! With the Single payer system you would go to your doctor, they would submit it to the Health Care system and the bill would be paid for.
How will we ever pay for this! That is the simplest of all issues! Let’s talk prohibition. Yes, I know, Drugs are bad for you and Marijuana is a DRUG. But lets think about this, how many people die from prescription pills, Alcohol, tobacco...Let me answer that for you, A LOT more than has even died from smoking a little herb! Our prison system is full of people that have broken the law buying or selling a plant that can be grown, picked and smoked. Hell, Tobacco has to be processed to be smoked. I say we legalize it, tax it! Let out the so called convicts from the prisons which will free up Billions a year of Tax dollars. The violence of importing it and trying to hide it would be gone because hell, it’s legal. IN California alone the Mexican drug cartels generate nearly 14 BILLION a year in crops, give that to AMERICAN farmers! Wow, we just freed up Hundreds of Billions for the Government each year! But there is more…
Taxes, I say we tax things we KNOW are bad for us. Not a lot, say 2%. We all know sodas, candy, little Debbie’s, Fast food, Alcohol, tobacco/marijuana products are bad for us…add a 2% tax that will go straight to the health care funds. Oh and guess what... since we legalized marijuana, now a lot of those things will be bought by the stoners with the munchies! Double positive hu ;)
Do you realize that the amount that we spend in 6 months in Iraq equals the same amount that they are projecting the cost for a Single Payer system over a 5 year period? Hmmm I didn’t hear anyone screaming when it came to attacking a country that we have since found out was a bunch lies to get us into there. Get our troops home, from Germany, Vietnam, and any where else we have huge bases set up... Use them to protect our borders... We just eliminated another HUGE cost that.
Ok... I am done with my rant for now... I’m sure I may get ill again when I listen to more of the stupid debate that I keep hearing!5 comments -
Thank you Uncle Teddy 8/27/09 2:15 AM
Yesterday we lost the last great statesman of Camelot. In the 1960's we lost his brothers. Yesterday Ted Kennedy died. We knew he was sick but for me it has still hid hard. One year to the day he gave his last speech. He passed the torch to a new generation. He passed the torch to Barrack Obama. He was in the senate for over 40 years. He helped passed so many bills that helped all Americans. He believed in reaching over party lines. In today's senate the Republicans don't know how to do that. Well, because of him we have civil rights, we have health care for children and he has fought for so many years to get America Single payer health care. I can only pray that now he's gone that in his memory we get get a bill named KENNEDY NATIONAL HEALTH CARE. It will be single payer and it will help our nation get back on track in helping our sick.
Rest in peace to the great lion. We all will miss you. Thank you Edward Moore Kennedy.3 comments -
O "the president" 11/6/08 1:29 PM
Dixie Land
O, I wish I was in the land of cotton
Old times there are not forgotten
Look away! Look away!
Look away! Dixie Land.
In Dixie Land where I was born in
Early on one frosty mornin'
Look away! Look away!
Look away! Dixie Land.
I've always loved this Civil War song. Why? Because I was born in the Middle of Atlanta, Georgia in December 10, 1947 at 2:30 am I was truly born on a frosty morn.
I'm proud of my heritage. I love being Southern. As I grew up and I went to Southwest DeKalb High School in Decatur, I watched Martin Luther King Jr.'s rise to fame.
I watched the riots in the cities and the church burnings. I watched President Kennedy's and Dr. King's assignation. These times were very dark and bloody to achieve
Civil rights for all. I am very lucky that the prejudices didn't rub off on me.
Now, when the song I started with was a war song my city was burned down in 1864. We Southerners Straightened our selves up and rebuilt Atlanta. It's now the major city in the Southeast. In our 5 Points in Down Town Atlanta there is a stature of the Phoenix rising from the ashes. I love it. I am so proud of my heritage.
Today I am proud of my Country. We all in America are the Phoenix rising from the ashes of our heritage. We have risen above our hatreds and our prejudices. We went
to the polls and voted in the best man that was running for president. Why do I feel that it's us rising above our prejudices? Because Barack Obama is a black man. I am sad to say that Georgia did vote for McCain but like my son said. Don't look at a piece look at the whole country the blue of the Democratics are bleeding all over the map!!
What is so humbling? The world is rejoicing with our decision. THE WORLD!!!!!! We Americans are just Teenagers in the world's eyes. WOW!!!! I guess we are now growing up. What do you think?15 comments -
I love this email!!! 9/27/08 6:50 PM
I'm against the $85,000,000,000.00 bailout of AIG.
Instead, I'm in favor of giving $85,000,000,000 to America in
a We Deserve It Dividend.
To make the math simple, let's assume there are 200,000,000
bonafide U.S. Citizens 18+.
Our population is about 301,000,000 +/- counting every man, woman
and child. So 200,000,000 might be a fair stab at adults 18 and up..
So divide 200 million adults 18+ into $85 billon that equals $425,000.00.
My plan is to give $425,000 to every person 18+ as a
We Deserve It Dividend.
Of course, it would NOT be tax free.
So let's assume a tax rate of 30%.
Every individual 18+ has to pay $127,500.00 in taxes.
That sends $25,500,000,000 right back to Uncle Sam.
But it means that every adult 18+ has $297,500.00 in their pocket.
A husband and wife has $595,000.00.
What would you do with $297,500.00 to $595,000.00 in your family?
Pay off your mortgage - housing crisis solved.
Repay college loans - what a great boost to new grads
Put away money for college - it'll be there
Save in a bank - create money to loan to entrepreneurs.
Buy a new car - create jobs
Invest in the market - capital drives growth
Pay for your parent's medical insurance - health care improves
Enable Deadbeat Dads to come clean - or else
Remember this is for every adult U S Citizen 18+ including the folks
who lost their jobs at Lehman Brothers and every other company
that is cutting back. And of course, for those serving in our Armed Forces.
If we're going to re-distribute wealth let's really do it...instead of trickling out
a puny $1000.00 ( "vote buy" ) economic incentive that is being proposed by one of our candidates for President.
If we're going to do an $85 billion bailout, let's bail out every adult U S Citizen 18+!
As for AIG - liquidate it.
Sell off its parts.
Let American General go back to being American General.
Sell off the real estate.
Let the private sector bargain hunters cut it up and clean it up.
Here's my rationale. We deserve it and AIG doesn't.
Sure it's a crazy idea that can "never work."
But can you imagine the Coast-To-Coast Block Party!
How do you spell Economic Boom?
I trust my fellow adult Americans to know how to use the $85 Billion
We Deserve It Dividend more than I do the geniuses at AIG or in Washington DC .
And remember, This plan only really costs $59.5 Billion because $25.5 Billion is returned
instantly in taxes to Uncle Sam.
Ahhh...I feel so much better getting that off my chest.6 comments -
More Silver Players? My friends said it all. 8/1/08 1:25 PM
May I go silver now updated... 8108 10:45 AM
this is copied from SneakyShrink profile and goes for any of us gold players who play cash games
and read also silver players for this will in the end affect you also. Also remember all who pass,
You can post on blogs even when your jewel count is too low to write in a GB.
So all who visit please leave a comment either here or on SneakyShrink blog.
Anyone reading this and wanting to copy please do. We need to let all know!!!!!
SneakyShrink words from her profile
"I just received an e-mail from King today about the new system for rewarding loyal players and
I am not sure I will be playing for money any more. Jeez , When will people learn that is NEVER
cool to take away previous rewards. They say loyal King fans will receive $5 to $15 for their patronage.
Well guess what? I just figured out that I have played 17085 games in the last 13 months.
That comes to 1314 a month of which about 1300 were played for money. My 9 cent savings added up to
$117.00 a month! I hardly think that $15 (the top amount) now being offered for my loyalty is even close.
Look to challenge me for jewels. Don't count on too many cash matches from me. I'd love to hear what
King and others are thinking about this "exciting new change".. Bleah!"
Thanks SS for letting us know. You are a true jewel for looking out for us all here.♣♥♣♥♣♥♣
We all as gold and silver players need to voice our opinion to King.
This is sad when they go up on rates not long ago now they lower your benefits of playing their games??
Visit SneakyShrink profile and leave a comment. We all need to protest by just not playing anymore cash games
till they open their eyes and see where their pay comes from?
If you figure a mere 500 games at 5% that would be $25.
And at only $5 bonus you lose $20 you were getting.
Now think about the ones play many more games, the ones on fixed incomes and the ones disabled and cant get out and do other things.
These people play to enjoy and pass time and this is their only source of satisfaction.
Now figure on a .80 game king makes .40. The avg game is 5 minutes. Thats 12 games or $4.80.
Now imagine how many games are going on at one time. The average 8 ball room has 10 games going.
Theres $48 an hour not including all the other games being played. Then figure the higher payed games into this.
Figure peak hours next when most games are wide open you can prob double if not tripple this figure.
Even at $48 an hour times just a mere 100 games. Thats $4800 for avg times. Times 24 hours $115,200.
Now figure if they give the mere 5% they used to? Still leaves $109,440 income in 24 hours.
Reminds me of the comment made by CEO of Emron? They made about $40 billion profit in 3 months.
"
His comment was "we are only making 3 cents on the gallon" Yet at the mere 3 cents a gallon brings in
40 billion? So why not only charge 1 cent more per gallon? How many companies do you know would love
to make even just a billion in one year???? A million????
How many companies would like to make $100,000 average in a day like King.com????
Yes I know they have salaries and upkeep and such also. What would that come to?
Doubt its anywhere close to what they bring in??
How does this affect silver players?
How long will King continue if they have no gold players paying for their site to keep running?
How much do they make off of the advertisements you get while waiting?
How many will advertise if there are fewer players on this site?
I for one will no longer be playing for money if this doesn't change!!!
And if gold doesn't play money games they eventually close your account?
Theres a good one King advertises to silver players "pay once lifetime access"? That is if you never lose all your funds?
Lifetime access is if you play money tournaments and win more than you lose?
Might be king lifetime which doesn't look too good at the moment?1 comments
ATTENTION ALL MEN!!!!! 7/20/08 5:49 PM
Why is it that men can't open up their mouths when it's important about when things are going wrong with your lives? If you are not feeling good, or, if things are completely falling apart all around you, why don't you just TELL the women in your life what's going on?
I'm not saying Every intimant piece of information. Just enough for us women to understand that things aren't going right at this time.
We, women sit and make up all kinds of scenarios in our minds and none of them are good. We feel that we have done some horrid thing, then we just swear off you and THEN we start hating you because you don't care, and then we KNOW at this point that you have a complete harem!!!
It would be so much easier on everyone involved if men would be just a little more open to us women. We won't bite off your heads. We'll even understand enough to give you some breathing room. Just let us know every once in a while that you are alive and trying to deal with your problems.
Women are nuturers by nature, we care and we want to help. Men like to put up a big act that they can handle the whole world. We women know this isn't so 100% of the time. No one can. Just talk to us long enough to let us know what you are thinking and going through. We'll understand, we may even be able to help.

Autobiography in Five Chapters
By Portia Nelson
Chapter I
I walk down the street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I fall in.
I am lost... I am helpless.
It isn't my fault.
It takes forever to find a way out.
Chapter II
I walk down the same street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I pretend I don't see it.
I fall in again.
I can't believe I'm in the same place, but it isn't my fault.
It still takes a long time to get out.
Chapter III
I walk down the same street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I see it is there.
I still fall in...it's a habit.
My eyes are open.
I know where I am.
It is my fault.
I get out immediately.
Chapter IV
I walk down the same street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I walk around it.
Chapter V
I walk down another street.

Brook Benton"s words of Wisdom 7/13/08 6:28 PM
Hoverin' by my suitcase, tryin' to find a
Warm place to spend the night
Heavy rain fallin', seems
I hear your voice callin' "It's all right."
A rainy night in Georgia,
a rainy night in Georgia
It seems like it's rainin' all over the world
I feel like it's rainin' all over the world
Neon signs a-flashin', taxi cabs and buses passin' through the night
A distant moanin' of a train seems to play a sad refrain to the night
A rainy night in Georgia,
such a rainy night in Georgia
Lord, I believe it's rainin' all over the world
I feel like it's rainin' all over the world
How many times I wondered
It still comes out the same
No matter how you look at it or think of it
It's life and you just got to play the game
I find me a place in a box car,
so I take my guitar to pass some time
Late at night when it's hard to rest
I hold your picture to my chest and I feel fine
But it's a rainy night in Georgia,
baby, it's a rainy night in Georgia
I feel it's rainin' all over the world, kinda lonely now
And it's rainin' all over the world
Oh, have you ever been lonely, people?
And you feel that it was rainin' all over this man's world
You're talking 'bout rainin', rainin', rainin', rainin',
rainin', rainin', rainin', rainin', rainin'
rainin', rainin', rainin'...
